what would you do [filtered]

This is close-locked post since I don't want to discuss this publicly or with my whole flist, but I'd like some advice on how to handle this issue.

As you probably know I had some major issues with my publisher over the original cover for my book, which had a woman on it and implied menage. This led to many m/m readers overlooking it and lost sales.

When they finally addressed the issue I got new version with the girl blacked out, because I was told they would have to re-do the cover completely and that was not an option they were prepared to do.

Well they "fixed" another menage-y cover for another book, and that one seems to have been completely re-done replacing a woman's image with a man's torso. [see below for before and after….]

What should I do? Should I ask for similar treatment? Should I question why I was told one thing and another author's book was given a better-executed and more attractive cover? Should I just shut up and move on and not work with this publisher again, given all the issues I"ve had with just this one book?

I haven't been in publishing long enough to know whether this is worth mentioning, but it's a huge disappointment about the way it's been handled.
