2 guys, 1 cabin, no heat. Do the math. Snow Job by @emlynley #mmromance

I’m thrilled to announce the release of my second Christmas novella, Snow Job, from Loose Id. [#1 was Gingerbread Palace and I did a Chanukah book with Shira Anthony, Lighting the Way Home]

Snow Job may sound like a story you’ve heard before, but it’s not. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but it isn’t the cliche snowed-in tale. However, if you do like that story line, you will still enjoy this one!

If you have ever been to Leavenworth, Washington, you will enjoy the story. If not, you’ll get to visit along with Zack and Monty.

I owe a huge thanks to Gina X Grant for helping me choose the perfect title. This gorgeous cover is by Fiona Jayde. She did the covers for my Totally Bound titles that came out earlier this year (A Lesser Evil and Venus Envy). She’s incredibly talented and I’m thrilled to have another one of her creations.

Two weeks in a remote mountain cabin with his hunk of a jock college roommate Monty Jameson has Zack Gregory hot under the collar in all the wrong ways. Truth is, Zack would rather be almost anywhere else, but it’s his only option if he’s to finish a project he needs to graduate from the University of Washington. Even worse, the nearest town is a faux-Bavarian village that looks like someone poured a snowglobe out on the eastern Cascades. Late-night fantasies aside, Zack’s no fan of manslut Monty, preferring his men with virtues that are more than skin-deep.

A few days into their retreat, Monty’s raw sexuality and flirtatiousness has Zack questioning his resolve. The idyllic setting is Zack’s Christmas fantasy come true, and even the splashy village eventually works its charm on him. Then when the cabin’s power goes out and Monty lays himself bare–in every way imaginable and then some–Zack sees a whole new set of possibilities. But will falling for Monty make the best Christmas ever, or is Zack just getting snowed?

Leavenworth! It’s where we stopped on the way home after the two camping trips I’ve ever been on, to get hot, greasy hamburgers and fries. That was, wow, about 30 years ago, so I have no idea what it’s like now, but it was a pretty little kitschy place back then. 🙂

Congrats on the novella, and I really want to read the Hanukkah book! I tried to get a Hanukkah story done for Dreamspinner’s holiday anthology and it just wouldn’t come together. I’m glad you and Shira were more successful!

      Hi Bee!
It’s been a while since I’ve been in Leavenworth, but the kitsch is part of the fun. We actually didn’t write the Hanukkah book for the holiday, so there wasn’t a real time pressure on the process. The secret to holiday stories it to write them in January or Feb, then you will have them done in plenty of time for the publisher deadlines. If you write while you are in a holiday mood, it is quite easy. 😀
