Fed up with LJ lately!

I've been trying to start posting regularly here on LJ again, but it has been a real pain to carry out. I've lost several posts in mid-composition to browser issues and the notifications for comments don't seem to work consistently either. I missed several comments on my last post, so I'm catching up. Sorry about that to people who commented and didn't get a timely reply.

What browser now works best for LiveJournal? I use Chrome, but it doesn't seem completely compatible with the LJ interface. Do I need to go back to Firefox?
