One Marine, Hero

by EM Lynley

If you enjoy military men, danger, sizzling romance and a peek behind the scenes at the White House, don’t miss this one!

This is a story I really enjoyed writing! As some of you know, I used to work as a White House economic adviser. Some of my behind-the-scenes experiences with Marine One on the White House lawn are included here.

If you recall a few months ago I mentioned taking helicopter flying lessons. They were research for this book! You’re really in for a treat this time around.

He’s a hero to everyone but himself.

Marine helicopter pilot Captain Jake Woodley struggles after receiving the Medal of Honor for a mission where he didn’t bring every man back alive. Being called a hero and having his photo plastered across the news makes him hate himself more. He despises his cushy job flying with the Marine One squadron, carrying the president and other officials, when he’d rather risk something, even death. He gets his wish when he’s ordered to fly a series of classified trips.

Matt “Beau” Beaumont has been relegated to covering the fashion beat after getting downsized from a hard-news position. But an unexpected invitation to a White House dinner might be the boost his career needs. Offering a hot marine an after-dinner blowjob wasn’t on Beau’s agenda, but when Jake takes him up on the proposition, some phenomenal casual sex soon blossoms into a relationship both of them crave.

When Beau’s extracurricular research uncovers defense department funding anomalies, he soon discovers the trouble goes higher than he imagined. Just as events start to make sense, the investigation puts Beau and Jake in deadly danger. It takes a daring play by Jake—risking everything he loves—to uncover the truth.

I think it’s the uniform :). Also, it’s honorable for a man to want to serve his country! Thanks for the great excerpt! I’m looking forward to reading this one!

  2. Angela says:

I pre-orderd One Marine Hero on Dreamspinner Press the moment it became available LOL.

I just love books that have main characters in the military. I think it is because often military men are the strong silent types, men who’s actions speaks louder than words 🙂 Love them, can’t wait for this book and look forward to the release day.

    Thanks for the giveaway chance.

  3. Serena S. says:

I always like uniforms, they look so sexy, lol. Thanks for the chance and congrats on your upcoming release!

  4. H.B. says:

There’s just something about a guy in uniform that attracts the eye 😉 Congrats on your upcoming book release! It looks and sounds fantastic.

  5. Jen CW says:

Their honor, the uniforms, their ability to adapt.

  6. Ree Dee says:

I think it is just the way they carry themselves. They stand a little straighter and seem to have good presence.

  7. kp says:

The commitment and dedication they have!

  8. I love the uniforms! And agree with Ree Dee, it’s the way they present their selves!

  9. younela says:

Like most I think it’s the uniform, but also the way a persons entire bearing changes. The ” chin up, chest out I’m proud to be here” look a person in uniform exudes.

  10. jenf27 says:

The sense of honor, duty and loyalty that many military characters have. Thanks!

  11. Shirley Ann Speakman says:

Definitely the uniform helps but also the pride that you know they are serving the country and keeping everyone safe.

  14. Denise Dechene says:

Congrats on the new book. My favorite branch of the military right now has to be the Air Force. My youngest joined in March and graduated basic in May. I went to the graduation and airman run and was really impressed.

Air Force – grew up as an AF brat 🙂

  21. Trix says:

I don’t have a favorite branch, but I’m humbled by all the military people willing to lay their lives on the line for people they don’t know!

  22. waxapplelover says:

Definitely no favorite branch. Love them all. However the Marine dress uniform is maybe a teensy bit hotter. And I really admire anyone who serves. It takes a special kind of discipline, dedication and loyalty.

  23. sula22 says:

I am fond of the air force blue coloured uniform and the navy blue, but I have a deep respect for any one serving in the armed services. Will this book form part of a series or is it a standalone ?
