First submission!

I finally got up the courage to submit one of my stories to a publisher. I’ve been thinking about it for a while and I had just the right thing when I saw the call for subs on a publisher’s website.

I submitted a story yesterday to Torquere Press’s Taste Test ‘Tis the Season. It’s a Christmas scene converted from a much longer fanfic I wrote last year. I had to substantially rework it to make it a standalone, and a scene that started out around 1700 words ended up at 3700 by the end. Not too bad. If they don’t take it, at least I have something to shop around next holiday season, as by the time they give me a decision, I’m sure it will be way too late to sub anywhere else for this holiday season.
