Wow, I've gotten a ton of interest in these two anthologies and I'm just thrilled about that! Keep the comments and emails coming. The best way to contact me is via my editor email: lynley.editor @ gmail.com
I also want to clarify a few points that have been asked already in case anyone else is wondering…
1. You can submit a story if you are out of the US. You will need a PayPal account for us to send you royalty payments.
2. You must be 18 years or older to submit since there is a contract involved and you must be 18 for it to be valid. In addition, legally no one under 18 can purchase the book, so publishers require all authors to be over 18.
3. This is not a fanfic anthology or zine. It is a collection of original fiction. If you want to convert a fic, that is acceptable, but it should be clearly original by the time you send it to me. I may pinpoint issues that you might want to change a bit. I can supply help with how to convert fics to original fiction if you want.
4. Make sure your work is BETAD and edited before you send it! Submitting a story is like applying for a job. You wouldn't wear your pajamas to an interview, so make sure your story is polished and the best representaiton of you as a writer. If English is not your first language, make sure to have a native English speaker, preferably American help you. Britishisms will be edited out.
5. If selected, your work will be edited again for style and grammar, but not without your approval. This is part of the professional publishing process. An editor reads and works with the author to present the best story. THis is not a reflection on your skill and most writers find this process educational and they learn to spot ways to improve their writing based on editor's comments. This is not an excuse to turn in a first draft of a story. Trust me, it happens with multi-published pro writers!
If I missed a question that you have, contact me and I'll add the information here.
