I wasn’t actually going to enter any books in the Rainbow Awards this year, but I decided to give it a go, because the entry fees were going to charity. All I really had to lose was another layer off my already-battered ego. I learned years ago that sometimes it’s safer to not ask for other people’s opinions.<\/p>\n

As it happens, I think two of my recent releases are some of the best writing I’ve ever done. (Yes,\u00a0 practice does help, though when it comes to writing, it certainly doesn’t make perfect.) And I also had my biggest selling book ever this year, and a few people twisted various parts of my anatomy, so I caved and entered.<\/p>\n

Color me gobsmacked to learn that I had three books with Honorable Mentions for their category, three finalists and all three were Runners Up. I’m just thrilled to death that the judges also seemed to think these books are among my best.<\/p>\n

Judge’s comments: Excellent sex and deft character development. <\/em>[I think he or she was a little overwhelmed. :)]<\/p>\n

Jeremy Linden\u2019s a PhD student researching an HIV vaccine. He\u2019s always short of money, and when biotech startup PharmaTek reduces funding for his fellowship, he\u2019s tempted to take a job at a men\u2019s dining club as a serving boy. The uniforms are skimpy, and he\u2019s expected to remove an item of clothing after each course. He can handle that, but he soon discovers there\u2019s more on the menu here than fine cuisine. How far will he go to pay his tuition, and will money get in the way when he realizes he\u2019s interested in more from one of his gentlemen?<\/p>\n

Brice Martin is an attorney for a Silicon Valley venture capital firm. When he\u2019s asked to take a client to the infamous Dinner Club, he finds himself unexpectedly turned on by the atmosphere and especially by his server, Remy.
