She makes a scrumptious ginger syrup and I suggested it would taste amazing in vodka. I&#8217;ll try mixing just about anything with vodka, with mixed results (pun intended). This is one of the best things I&#8217;ve come up with. If you make it, tell us what you think!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">EM&#8217;s Ginger Martini<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>1-1\/2 ounces vodka<br \/>\n1-1\/2 ounces ginger syrup (recipe below)<br \/>\nSquirt of lemon juice<br \/>\nIce<\/p>\n<p>Put the ingredients in a martini shaker and pretend you&#8217;re Tom Cruise in <em>Cocktail<\/em>. Pour into any glass. Garnish with a slice or two of ginger from the syrup jar.<\/p>\n<p>Sip. Smile. Repeat.<\/p>\n<p>You can vary the proportion of vodka and syrup to your liking.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Shira Anthony&#8217;s Sweet &amp; Spicy Ginger Syrup<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Two large ginger roots, about 6-8 ounces total<br \/>\n3 cups of water<br \/>\n2 cups of sugar<\/p>\n<p>Peel and slice ginger into about \u00bc to \u00bd-inch slices. Put sliced ginger, water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer. Let it simmer until it&#8217;s about pancake-syrup consistency, stirring occasionally.<\/p>\n<p>Cool the syrup in the saucepan. If you find it&#8217;s too thick as it starts cooling, heat up a little (not boiling) and add more water to get to desired consistency. Cool again.
