I’ve definitely been behind on the blog and emails this past week and I’m trying to catch up. Gmail had some issues and has been delivering messages long after they were sent. I even lost an email with a contract from a publisher and thankfully they re-sent the email.

I got the cover art from Dreamspinner last night for DISGUISES,  which will be coming out next month. Here’s the blurb. I’m going to post an excerpt later on once I pick a good one.

DISGUISES
from Dreamspinner Press
M/M Contemporary Erotic Romance

Race Wilcox and Derrick Steele are best friends and co-stars of a mildly popular television series that’s perpetually on the verge of cancellation. Publicity and ratings are a high priority for their network, and both stars are expected to attend the Halloween party which has been turned into a huge publicity event. Race hates Halloween, hates dressing up and hates publicity, and only the prospect of going along with Derrick makes the idea palatable. Until he finds out Derrick’s long-term, long-distance girlfriend Stella
Reynolds will be joining them. Race is also straight, yet he can’t explain the sudden jealousy that information causes.

When shocking events during and after the network’s party reveal startling secrets, Race comes to realize that he wants more than friendship with Derrick, only he’s not sure that Derrick is willing to put their friendship at risk by taking things to a whole new and
intimate level.

It’s been quiet here the past few days. I’ve mostly been offline thanks to some killer headaches. Writing is impossible at the moment and I haven’t wanted to read any more antho subs while I’m feeling so unwell, just to make sure I read them with more care and attention.

I’m just checking in briefly while waiting for the release of VENUS ENVY later today. As soon as I hear from Cobblestone that it’s available, I”ll be posting a link, then going back to bed. I know a lot of people are looking forward to this one and so am I.

Till later….

“This is honestly one of the best M/M romance novels I have read, and EM Lynley has found herself one very happy new fan.” Coffee Time Romance

“Sex, Lies and Wedding Bells
is an intriguing saga of how secrets and lies can hurt. EM Lynley has created a fascinating tale with a touch of mystery, betrayal and interesting revelations as the plot unfolds. The characters are realistic and the love scenes are sensuous. I enjoyed this impressive story immensely.” Read the full review .

I got two reviews this week for my short story PUBLIC EXPOSURE.

FIrst off, Rainbow Reviews gave it 5 stars!
(full review)

“This story is an explicitly erotic sexual fantasy. E.M. Lynley writes in a style that creates colorful (and very naughty) images in your mind, and that’s a very good thing. I read Public Exposure once, and said, “Wow!” and read it again immediately….Go get Public Exposure. I promise you will enjoy it ~ just be sure you have the fans set on high before you start!”

Bookwenches gave it 4.25 stars, but they seemed to like it a lot:
(full review — see 9/4)

The sex scenes in this story are quite intense and combine sensuality and adventure along with inventiveness. The scene where the two heroes make love on the back of a motorcycle can only be called blistering…Public Exposure made me smile and squirm and fan myself a bit, and that made it truly worth the read. I hope that Ms. Lynley gives her readers another novel-length story soon, because she is a talented and engaging writer.”

That’s a nice compliment compared to last time when they said I wouldn’t win a Pulitzer but I was entertaining, or something to that effect.

To follow up on the lesson I posted yesterday, here’s a tip someone told me about how to keep POV from shifting within a scene. Many writers don’t even seem to realize they are doing it and this will help. more…
