Friday is the last day to read A Heat.Seeking.Missile for free. I’m pulling it down since I subbed a slightly revised version of it to a publisher (more about that later).

Contest rules: If you read it and come back here to comment, your name will entered in a drawing to win either the book which has my Christmas story in it, OR a copy of Sex, Lies & Wedding Bells which is due out at the beginning of February. But you have to comment here about the Missile story… that’s not so hard is it?

I’ll choose a winner and contact you over the weekend.

I just happened across a review of Tis the Season Taste Test, which includes my story “The Sweetest Christmas!”

Since the volume includes stories by two other people, I’m not going to let the three-star review bum me out, since the reviewer found one of the stories “disconcerting.” They don’t give each story an individual rating.

Here’s what Rainbow Reviews said about my story:

The Sweetest Christmas, by EM Lynley, drops us into Jared and Erik’s first family Christmas. They’ve gone to Jared’s family for the holiday and decided to spend Christmas Eve celebrating on their own with some games, chocolates and sultry sex.

This story is just a tantalizing taste of an interesting duo, who are still new enough to each other to add an exciting feel to their relationship.

I’m taking that as a positive!

Wow, I realize I haven’t been posting here much lately. A few things in RL have conspired as well as there not being much to report.

Sex, Lies and Wedding Bells
(read excerpts) is now tentatively scheduled for the first week of February. I still don’t have any cover art, so that date might be more elastic than I’d like. I’m a bit tired of asking them when it’s coming out, so I decided to spend some time writing things to send off to other publishers while I’m waiting… I probably shouldn’t say stuff like that here, but I can always delete it later, right?

I just posted a new and improved version of "Heat.Seeking.Missile" on my Free Read page. It’s still pretty short, about 2700 words but I’m putting a few finishing touches on it and will be subbing it somewhere this week, at which point it will be coming down from the website, so if you want to read it, don’t delay. Check it out today!

I’ve also been working on another short story that I’m hoping to sub during the next week. I’ll try and get an excerpt of that posted as well.

In the meantime, I’ll add a quick plug for my friend  ’s first print (and e-book) novel which came out this past week from MLR. Check out Gym Dandy.

We’re in the homestretch for the e-book release of my first novel: Sex, Lies & Wedding Bells, a m/m twist on the Runaway Bride story.  I just sent off the last round of edits and it looks like it’s set to release during the third week of January! The publisher, Ravenous Romance, features a new novel each day and they don’t have the schedule finalized. Unfortunately I don’t have the cover art yet either, but as soon as I do, I’ll post it here!  I can’t wait to see it, since I honestly have no idea how it will look. So far the covers at Ravenous have been really wonderful, so I admit I have very high hopes for mine.

I’ll also be posting excerpts here later this week!

Most of the last week has been spent writing, with two stories finished and edits on Sex, Lies & Wedding Bells. But over the weekend I took some time to do a bit of reading. Fellow Torquere author Syd McGinley has a series of stories centering on the intriguing character of Dr. Fell. I’d heard how popular Dr. Fell was and finally, I succumbed and started reading.

So far I’ve read two of Syd’s stories, Petsitting and Pet Rescue, and I’m working my way through a third one now: Exotic Pets. I didn’t quite know what the characters would be like when I started, and I’ll admit I wasn’t expecting full time D/s here, but I have to admit I quickly grew to like Dr. Fell and his friends and I’m definitely fascinated by the lifestyle, which is something I hadn’t read much of until now. It’s certainly gotten me interested in learning more. Dr. Fell is such a nice guy, but boy he can sure punish a boy when he deserves it. The details of day-to-day activities and how the D/s community looks out for the welfare of its members was a really interesting plus to the stories. I can’t wait for poor Dr. Fell to find the right boy and soon!

So, if you like heavy D/s, you’ll love these stories. If you’re not sure, give the first one a read. It’s short and you’ll find the characters endearing ,and if you’re like me, you’ll want to understand a lot more about the subject and absolutely want to know more about what happens to these characters. I can see why Dr. Fell is so popular and thankfully Syd has lots more stories to tell us about them.

If you’ve read other good D/s books, please feel free to rec your favorites to me.

If you’re one of the people who wishes you could help defeat California’s Prop 8, here’s something you can do, even if you don’t live in CA or the US.

A great group of GLBT authors of erotic romance have put together an anthology and all the proceeds are going to Lambda Legal’s Fund.

I didn’t have time to contribute, but several people I know have stories in there and I’m sure you’re all familiar with their names! Check it out!!

——————-

Do you support the right of any human being to marry the person they love? The right to say ‘I Do’ to a life of commitment and sharing with the that one special person? We do.

We hope that marriage will soon be a dream that everyone can share. That’s why the following authors of LGBT fiction have donated stories to this anthology, in aid of Lambda Legal Fund’s fight for marriage equality:

Tracey Pennington, Alex Beecroft, Charlie Cochrane, Clare London, Storm Grant, Lisabet Sarai, Sharon Maria Bidwell, Jeanne Barrack, Marquesate, Z.A Maxfield, P.A Brown, Allison Wonderland, Erastes, Zoe Nichols and Cassidy Ryan, Emma Collingwood, Mallory Path, Jerry L.
